I'll answer question #1 with another question:

Why is EVERYTHING a wealthy/celebrity person does, celebrated? Millions of people are doing worthwhile things around the world but it only makes headlines when a celebrity does it. It's annoying and as you elude to, it makes it feel unattainable for regular people.

Exactly. I get it logically, as someone with insane wealth and influence will naturally have more followers on social media therefore the likelihood of recognition is higher. Also some celebrities/ well known people have loyal fan bases that are dead set on singing their praises no matter how small the deed, as opposed to real tangible work from organisations and charities. In terms of ADHD and wider mental health topics, I do feel success stories take up vital space that could otherwise be used to discuss government policy and destigmatisation, albeit my ‘feeling’ over the last 5/6 years has been more understanding anecdotally from people I’ve spoken to about my ADHD and other mental health.
