I love the comment about sometimes just letting yourself leave situations.
I've noticed actually that a lot of senior leadership figures do this. Maybe they have the privilege of their seniority but I admire their confidence in just going whenever they want.
I also try not to drink in these situations. It definitely reduces my nerves in the moment but the next day I feel foggy, more anxious and just meh.
Yeah I think that plays into it. I’ve spent my entire life thinking I have to stick around for these things, but I don’t really haha - I’m with you on the drinks to get some faux confidence

When I worked corporate we had town hall meetings regularly. I didn't really have the anxiety back then that I do now so I usually got through them by drowning myself in buffet food lol.
That was so many years ago now, I don't know what I'd do today if I had to become corporate again.
